About

Hi, welcome to Bluebead Lily! My name is Liv and I am a bead artist and designer in Ontario, Canada. I specialize in limited edition and one-of-a-kind pieces made from glass seed beads. I produce handcrafted original work inspired by both the landscape around me and the geometric properties of beadweaving. I’m interested in pushing the boundaries of what is possible with seed beads.

I am Anishinaabe and I’ve been working with beads all my life. The name Bluebead Lily comes from a flower that grows in woodlands in my home territory. It grows about six inches high and produces small yellow flowers in late May to early June. Later in summer it produces dark blue poisonous berries which resemble shiny round beads. Other names for this flower include ozaawaadotaagaans and clintonia borealis.

I use only high quality materials in my work. I also believe in transparency in product sourcing and I want to give you as much information about the products as possible. See my product sourcing page for more details.
